Found almost exclusively above 13,000 ft. Found in all mountain ranges but breeding areas may be difficult to access(S1). The diet consists of insects(S1). Habitat is Tundra(Medicine Bow curve for reference) with blanked vegetation mat willows, grasses, sedges, and alpine flowers(S1).

Brown-caps are one of the only species to breed in vertical cliffs and crags. The female builds a nest out of grass inside crevices in the cliffs/crags.
